How this site works

A brand is listed only if it holds at least one third-party credential that a verification body publishes and maintains — B Corp certification, 1% for the Planet membership, GOTS, Fair Trade, Climate Neutral, bluesign®, or OEKO-TEX among them.

We do not accept payment for inclusion, for placement, or for a higher ranking. A brand cannot buy its way onto this site, and no brand has ever been added because it asked.

We report what the certifier says, and nothing more. Where a credential carries a score — the B Impact Assessment, for instance — we show it against the two numbers that give it meaning: 80 points is the threshold to certify, and 50.9 is the median score for an ordinary business that completes the assessment.

Every credential on this site carries a "Verify" link straight to the certifier's own record. If you don't want to take our word for it, don't. That's the point.

A credential describes the company, not necessarily the specific item you're looking at. A certified company can still make an ordinary product. We show you what's verifiable and let you weigh it.

We may earn a commission if you buy through this link. It never changes the price you pay, and it never affects how we rank products.

Some brands run affiliate programs; some don't. Commission rates vary. Ranking, filters, and sort order are computed the same way for every product regardless of whether we earn anything from it, and products from brands that pay us nothing appear exactly as often as those that do.

We take no display advertising, no sponsored placements, and no payment for editorial copy.

We don't take payment, hold inventory, or handle returns — the brand does all of that. We don't collect accounts, and we don't reproduce any certifier's logo or mark, because those are their trademarks and not ours to use.
